Sophisticated solution from Cisco Partners Andtek provides high efficiency and flexibility for phone-based communication.


Hallbergmoos, May 17th, 2016 - A powerful solution for phone management brought the German corporation Andtek on the market with „AND Guard“. With this software, users of Cisco Unified Communications Manager can control communication within the company flexibly and individually, according to their needs. 

To benefit from „AND Guard“, neither special tools nor skills are required. The usual infrastructure can be kept. This is because the configuration of the software module with the Cisco Unified Communications Manager relies on the web-based assistance of „AND Phone Application Server“ (APAS). This central control unit can be operated both with hardware as well as with virtual machines. 

In the already introduced Spring 2016 Version of „AND Guard“ are three main functions:

AND Guard Redirect“ - intelligent call diversion

Companies can define as many rules as they like, by which they conduct phone-based communication within the company using „AND Guard“. According to the rules established internal / external calls can be automatically forwarded, rejected or accepted. For example, to optimize the call routing on weekends, pre-programmed time specifications allow calls to be switched and automated for set days and times. Following the same pattern so-called „Ethical firewalls“ can be generated; these rules define which user groups can communicate with each other and which can not. For example, legal departments within the company may not be permitted to communicate with other departments, when threat of conflict of interest is present.

Further advantages of „AND Guard Redirect“:

  • Forwarding external (hotline) calls to switchboards and pre-programmed numbers,
  • no manual redirection to individual extensions is required,
  • Enabling mass diversions (for example, in the event of an evacuation).

AND Guard Lookup“ - addressing clients personally

The phone numbers of incoming and outgoing calls are automatically replaced by the name if the number is already in the database. Advantage: The employee can greet and answer the customers, suppliers, etc. personally by name. It is also very practical and convenient when all numbers are listed by name. 

AND Guard Lockout“ - reliable protection

This feature allows specific numbers or entire phone lines (up to 10,000) to be automatically and timely blocked. This protects against abuse from unauthorized use or gives the option of blocking unwanted numbers such as cost-carrying calls. Once unlocked, the phones do not have to be restarted.
