The communication of the future as seen by children

Enghouse Interactive demonstrates its social commitment with a picture contest.

Leipzig, 22 September 2015 – Enghouse Interactive is organising a picture contest under the slogan "The communication of the future". A jury will select the pictures for a 2016 annual calendar from the best entries. Children up to 14 years in age can win attractive prizes like a Kindle or quality binoculars. Partner companies, customers and employees of Enghouse Interactive are supporting this promotion for a charitable cause.

How will people communicate in 100 years' time? What audiovisual resources will we be using in the 22nd century? Will we be able to exchange thoughts by means of some technology which today is still unimaginable? What does the communication of the future actually look like in the eyes of children? The Enghouse Interactive picture competition will explore the answers to these questions.

This is how it works: children of up to 14 years put their ideas, fantasies and images on the theme of "The communication of the future" on paper in a creative way. How they depict their ideas is not important. It is up to the children whether they use normal or coloured pencils, water or oil paints or crayons for their creative efforts. The only requirement is that the works of art are in DIN-A landscape format.

From all entries a jury headed by the Kika presenter Alex Huth will select the best 13 pictures, which will then be used in the design of a calendar for 2016. This calendar will be presented by Enghouse Interactive to partners, customers and employees in return for a voluntary donation to the charitable organisations „Herzenswünsche e.V.“ (www.herzenswuensche.de) and „Stiftung RTL - Wir helfen Kindern e.V.“ (www.rtlwirhelfenkindern.de).

Enghouse will deliberately be presenting the calendar during the Christmas season and at the turn of the year. „We want to bring a little joy to children who don't have it easy in life“, says Astrid Pocklington. The Marketing Manager of Enghouse Interactive is therefore hoping for generous donations.

SEC-COM is leading by example. The company, one of the most successful nationwide system suppliers in the telecommunications and IT industry, is contributing € 3,500 to the calendar promotion. „This is a great project by Enghouse Interactive, which we support wholeheartedly“, says SEC-COM CEO Guido Otterbein with regard to his company's generous donation.

The creators of the 13 winning works of art can look forward to attractive prizes. These include high-quality binoculars worth up to € 197 from the renowned optical specialists DDoptics, a Kindle Paperwhite worth € 100 as well as laptops, walkie-talkies, CD players and Amazon gift vouchers.
It's therefore well worth taking part. „We enjoy being inspired and are convinced that children will enrich our calendar with their imagination and creative ideas. Of course, we hope for active participation“, says Enghouse spokesperson Astrid Pocklington.

The closing date for submitting the pictures (with the child's name, age and address on the back) is 16 October 2015. Entries should be sent to: Enghouse Interactive, Schützenstr. 2, 04103 Leipzig.
